What Infor publishes about VISUAL pricing

Bar chart of three year cost for ten users. Infor VISUAL 208,000 USD at 3,000 USD a month with 100,000 USD implementation, 112,000 USD at 2,000 USD a month with 40,000 USD implementation, 64,000 USD at 1,500 USD a month with 10,000 USD implementation, against ProductionPlanning.ai Plant 7,722 USD and Line 2,682 USD

No dollar figure at all. Infor's VISUAL product page ends in a contact form, and top10erp, which tracks ERP vendors, says Infor VISUAL does not provide pricing. What you can learn before the first call is how the quote is built.

  • Licenses are per user. A shop buys named users, tied to one person, or concurrent users, shared by whoever is logged in at the time. Concurrent seats cost more each, but a two shift plant needs fewer of them
  • There are two ways to pay. A subscription, hosted or on premise, billed per user a month, or a perpetual license bought upfront with annual maintenance after it. SoftwareConnect lists a perpetual license from 12,000 USD
  • Implementation is separate. Infor and its partners sell setup, data migration and training as services, and the partner's estimate of days decides most of the one time cost
  • There is no free trial. ITQlick and Capterra both list VISUAL with no free trial, so you see it in a partner demo

That is the normal shape for a mid market ERP. It also means two shops of the same size can pay very different amounts for the same software.

The Infor VISUAL cost estimates you will find online

These are the ones we could read at the source. They describe different shop sizes and different ways of paying, which is why they do not line up.

Source What it estimates Figure
ITQlick Subscription From about 200 USD per user a month, about 2,400 USD per user a year
ITQlick Ten users 1,500 to 3,000 USD a month, 18,000 to 36,000 USD a year
ITQlick Implementation, training, migration 10,000 USD for a small business to 100,000 USD or more
ITQlick Year one for ten users 28,000 to 136,000 USD or more, before maintenance and support
SoftwareConnect Perpetual license From 12,000 USD, cloud or on premise, Windows client
Capterra and GetApp Starting price 2,000 USD, which Capterra labels per user a month and no other source supports
top10erp List price Not provided by Infor

The Capterra figure is the outlier. At 2,000 USD per user a month a ten user shop would pay 240,000 USD a year in licenses alone, far above every other estimate, so we leave it out of the math below. The rest agree on the shape: the bill grows with every user, implementation is priced separately, and in year one it can cost as much as the licenses.

What actually moves an Infor VISUAL quote

Six things decide the number. Have an answer to each before the partner's first call.

  • Named or concurrent. Count who needs a login on each shift. A shop with ten office and floor users across two shifts may cover them with six concurrent seats, so ask for both prices
  • Subscription or perpetual. A subscription spreads the cost; a perpetual license is cheaper over many years but adds annual maintenance, which ERP consultants generally put at 15 to 25 percent of the license a year
  • Hosting. On premise means your own Windows server and someone to patch and back it up. If you keep VISUAL in house, put uptime monitoring that checks the server every 30 seconds on it so a dead box is caught before first shift, not after
  • Modules. Quality, shop floor data collection on mobile devices, multi site, EDI and the advanced scheduling screens can each be in or out of the quote
  • Data migration. Moving years of jobs, routings and part masters from an older VISUAL release or another system is consultant time, and it is the line that grows most
  • Partner. Infor sells VISUAL largely through partners, and their day rate and staffing decide the implementation figure

If you already run an old VISUAL release, the upgrade quote is its own number. Ask for it next to the price of a new subscription, so you can compare the two on the same terms.

What Infor VISUAL costs over three years, worked through

Here is the arithmetic for a job shop with ten users: the owner, a planner, an estimator, purchasing, the office and five shift leads. It is a sketch from ITQlick's ranges, not an Infor quote.

Cost line Low case Middle case High case
Basis 1,500 USD a month for ten users 200 USD per user a month 3,000 USD a month for ten users
Subscription per year 18,000 USD 24,000 USD 36,000 USD
Implementation, one time 10,000 USD 40,000 USD 100,000 USD
Year one 28,000 USD 64,000 USD 136,000 USD
Three year total 64,000 USD 112,000 USD 208,000 USD

The low and high year one figures match ITQlick's own range of 28,000 to 136,000 USD for ten users. Maintenance on a perpetual license, extra modules and a second site push the totals up; negotiating concurrent seats can pull them down.

For a 10 to 40 person job shop whose real complaint is that nobody knows which order will ship late, that is a lot to pay for one answer. A finite capacity scheduler on our Plant plan costs 2,574 USD a year paid yearly, so 7,722 USD over three years, with no implementation fee and unlimited users. Line, for up to 10 work centers, is 894 USD a year, or 2,682 USD over three years.

Infor VISUAL pricing model next to a per plant subscription

Price visibility Quote through Infor or a partner Published on the pricing page
License basis Per named or concurrent user Per plant, unlimited users
Ways to pay Subscription, or perpetual plus maintenance Monthly, or six months' price for a year (50 percent off)
Implementation 10,000 to 100,000 USD or more per ITQlick None, import a spreadsheet and run
Scheduling Finite or Drum Buffer Rope scheduling and the Manufacturing Window, inside the ERP The whole product
Estimating, costing, purchasing, accounting Yes, built in No, keep what you use today

These are different purchases. VISUAL runs a whole order driven shop, and its scheduler works from VISUAL's own work orders, so it only helps once the ERP is live. We give a smaller shop a schedule it can trust next to the books it already keeps. Our Infor VISUAL ERP alternative page sets the two side by side and says plainly when VISUAL is the better buy. If your Infor rep is steering you toward the larger CloudSuite Industrial instead, Infor SyteLine pricing works through its per user estimates and three year term for a 20 user plant.

What to ask on the Infor VISUAL pricing call

Write these down first. They are the questions that change the number.

  • What is the price per named user and per concurrent user, and is there a minimum
  • What does a perpetual license cost against a subscription over five years, and what is the annual maintenance percentage
  • Do shift leads who only read the schedule need a full license
  • Which modules are in the quote, and which scheduling screens come with the base system
  • How many partner days is the implementation, at what day rate, and what does data migration add
  • If we run an older VISUAL release, what does the upgrade cost against a new subscription
  • Can you schedule our own open jobs and machines in the demo before we sign

Infor VISUAL pricing questions buyers ask

How much does Infor VISUAL cost?

Infor does not publish VISUAL pricing. ITQlick estimates about 200 USD per user a month, 18,000 to 36,000 USD a year for ten users, and implementation from 10,000 USD to 100,000 USD or more. For ten users, three years come to roughly 64,000 to 208,000 USD. SoftwareConnect lists a perpetual license from 12,000 USD.

How much does Infor VISUAL ERP cost per user?

About 200 USD per user a month on a subscription, according to ITQlick, which works out to about 2,400 USD per user a year. Concurrent seats cost more each than named seats but cover more people. Infor and its partners quote the actual figure, and committed user counts and contract length move it.

How much does an Infor VISUAL implementation cost?

Infor publishes no figure. ITQlick estimates 10,000 USD for a small business and 100,000 USD or more for larger ones, covering setup, data migration and training. Migration from an older VISUAL release or another ERP, and the number of sites, are the lines that move it most.

Is there a free trial of Infor VISUAL?

No. ITQlick and Capterra both list VISUAL with no free trial and no free version. You see it in a demo run by Infor or a partner, so ask them to load your own open jobs, routings and machines rather than sample data.

Is Infor VISUAL worth it for a small job shop?

It can be for an order driven shop that wants estimating, work order costing, purchasing, quality and scheduling in one system and has someone to own the rollout. For a shop of 10 to 30 people whose books already work and whose problem is late orders, a five or six figure ERP project is heavy for that one fix.

What is a cheaper alternative to Infor VISUAL?

For a whole ERP, buyers compare VISUAL with Epicor Kinetic, JobBOSS2, ECI M1 and Global Shop Solutions. If late orders are the problem, a dedicated scheduler is the cheaper fix: ProductionPlanning.ai costs 149 USD per plant a month with unlimited users, next to the system you already run.

Price the schedule before you price the ERP

If late orders are the problem, fix them first for a flat price per plant with the whole floor included. Start on Line at 149 USD a month, or run the demo on a sample week of orders and see where your bottleneck really is. Our pricing page lists every plan, Epicor Kinetic pricing works through the cost of VISUAL's closest rival, and job shop software shows how the schedule handles make to order work.
