What Epicor publishes about Kinetic pricing

Nothing with a dollar sign. The Kinetic page on epicor.com offers a demo request and a product tour, and SoftwareConnect states plainly that Epicor does not provide pricing for Kinetic on its website. What Epicor does publish is what you are buying.

  • A cloud ERP built for manufacturers, which Epicor says is specialized for discrete, make to order manufacturing
  • Cloud first, with on premise and hybrid deployments still available
  • Forecasting, MRP, Advanced Planning and Scheduling, sourcing, MES and data collection, quality, CPQ and eCommerce, all in one platform
  • A twice yearly release train, the current one being 2026.100

Epicor also publishes a Forrester study it commissioned, which reports a 270 percent ROI and a 20 month payback for a composite of four manufacturers. That is the vendor's case for the system. It tells you nothing about what your own quote will say.

The Epicor Kinetic cost estimates you will find online

Every number online is a third party estimate, and they do not agree. These are the ones with a source we could check.

Source What it estimates Figure
top10erp Subscription per user 125 USD per user a month, 10 user minimum
top10erp Implementation From 50,000 USD
ERP Research Subscription per user 100 to 200 USD per user a month
ERP Research Platform fee 1,500 USD a month on top of users
ERP Research Implementation 50,000 USD to 1,000,000 USD, 100,000 to 400,000 USD for 25 to 100 users
ERP Research Example 5,000 to 8,000 USD a month all in for a 25 user company
ERP Research Rollout time 5 to 10 months
SoftwareConnect Starting point At least 2,100 USD a month
SoftwareConnect Cloud subscription range 4,000 to 20,000 USD a month
SoftwareConnect On premise perpetual license 150,000 to 1,000,000 USD
ERP Research On premise maintenance About 20 percent of the license a year

Why they disagree: Kinetic is modular, sold directly and through partners, and priced by user type, deployment and modules. ERP Research notes that advanced manufacturing pieces such as MES, scheduling and quality are priced as add ons to the core. Two plants with ten users each can get quotes that differ by a factor of two.

What actually moves an Epicor Kinetic quote

Six things decide the number. Have an answer to each before the first call.

  • Users and user types. Full users, shop floor data collection users and occasional users are priced differently, and top10erp reports a 10 user minimum
  • Modules. Core financials, sales and MRP are one thing. Advanced Planning and Scheduling, MES, quality, CPQ and EDI each add to the subscription
  • Deployment. Cloud subscription, on premise perpetual license with yearly maintenance, or hybrid. On premise also means your own server, backups and upgrades
  • Implementation partner. Epicor or a partner configures, migrates and trains. That is where most of year one goes
  • Integrations. Every connection to a CAD system, a shipping tool or a customer portal is configuration work, and every custom report adds hours
  • Side requirements. Epicor markets sustainability reporting as part of the platform. If the only reason for that module is one customer's emissions questionnaire, carbon accounting software that works from your invoices is a far smaller purchase than an ERP add on

For a small plant the subscription is rarely the biggest line in year one. The implementation is.

What Epicor Kinetic costs over three years, worked through

Here is the arithmetic for a plant with 10 Kinetic users, the minimum top10erp reports. It is a sketch built from the published estimates, not a quote.

Cost line Low case Middle case High case
Subscription per month 1,250 USD, 10 users at 125 USD 2,500 USD, 10 users at 100 USD plus the 1,500 USD platform fee 3,500 USD, 10 users at 200 USD plus the platform fee
Subscription over 36 months 45,000 USD 90,000 USD 126,000 USD
Implementation 50,000 USD 50,000 USD 100,000 USD
Three year total before internal time 95,000 USD 140,000 USD 226,000 USD

That leaves out the hours your own people spend on data cleanup, testing and training during a 5 to 10 month rollout, which is usually the cost owners underestimate most.

For a plant that is replacing QuickBooks, spreadsheets and a pile of separate tools with one system, that can be money well spent. Kinetic is a mature ERP with a large partner network.

For a 10 to 40 person plant whose complaint is "we never know which order will ship late", it is a lot of money and most of a year to fix one problem. A finite capacity scheduler on our Plant plan costs 2,574 USD a year paid yearly, so 7,722 USD over the same three years, with no implementation fee and unlimited users. Line, for up to 10 work centers, is 894 USD a year, or 2,682 USD over three years.

Epicor Kinetic pricing model next to a per plant subscription

Subscription basis Per user, plus modules, plus a platform fee per ERP Research Per plant, unlimited users
Minimum 10 users per top10erp One plant, 149 USD a month

These are different purchases. Kinetic runs the whole business and scheduling is one module of it. We give a smaller plant a trustworthy schedule on its own, next to the books it already keeps. If you are comparing Kinetic with another order driven ERP, our Infor VISUAL ERP alternative page puts the same per user arithmetic on Infor's job shop system, and SYSPRO ERP pricing does it for SYSPRO under its new named user subscription. If you are still deciding whether to buy an ERP at all, our Epicor Kinetic alternative page lists the systems buyers usually shortlist against Epicor and when a scheduler next to your books is enough.

What to ask on the Epicor Kinetic pricing call

Write these down before the call. They are the questions that change the number.

  • How many users does the quote assume, of which types, and what does one more cost
  • Is there a minimum user count or a platform fee, and is it in the monthly figure
  • Which modules are in the quote, and is Advanced Planning and Scheduling one of them or an extra
  • Is implementation fixed price or time and materials, how many days does it include, and who does it
  • What does the subscription rise to at renewal, and is there a cap
  • What does on premise cost against cloud over five years, including maintenance and hardware
  • Can we see Kinetic schedule our own open orders before we sign

Epicor Kinetic pricing questions buyers ask

How much does Epicor Kinetic cost?

Epicor does not publish Kinetic pricing. Third party estimates run 100 to 200 USD per user a month, with top10erp at 125 USD and a 10 user minimum and ERP Research adding a 1,500 USD monthly platform fee. Implementation starts around 50,000 USD. For 10 users, three years come to roughly 95,000 to 226,000 USD.

Does Epicor Kinetic charge per user?

Yes, according to every third party source we checked. Kinetic subscriptions are priced per user, with different prices for full and shop floor users, plus modules. top10erp reports a 10 user minimum, and ERP Research adds a platform fee. That is why the bill rises each time another planner, shift lead or buyer needs access.

How much does Epicor Kinetic cost per user per month?

Estimates range from 80 to 250 USD per user a month, with most sources between 100 and 200 USD. top10erp lists 125 USD. The per user figure is only part of the bill: modules, a platform fee and implementation sit on top, so divide the full quote by your users before comparing.

How much does an Epicor license cost?

It depends on how you buy it. A Kinetic cloud subscription is a per user license, estimated at 100 to 200 USD per user a month with a 10 user minimum per top10erp. An on premise perpetual license is bought upfront, and SoftwareConnect estimates 150,000 to 1,000,000 USD plus about 20 percent a year in maintenance. Shop floor users are usually priced lower than full users, so ask for both counts.

How long does an Epicor Kinetic implementation take?

ERP Research puts a typical Kinetic rollout at 5 to 10 months, with implementation costs from 50,000 USD and 100,000 to 400,000 USD for 25 to 100 users. Data migration, configuration and training make up most of it. A per plant scheduler that imports a spreadsheet can publish its first schedule the same afternoon.

Is Epicor Kinetic good for a small business?

It can be for a growing manufacturer replacing several systems at once. For a plant under about 20 people, a 10 user minimum, a 50,000 USD implementation and months of rollout are a lot, and one SoftwareConnect reviewer at a 1 to 10 person company wrote that it was "a bit more than what we needed". Our best production scheduling software roundup compares smaller options.

Is Epicor Kinetic cloud or on premise?

Both. Epicor describes Kinetic as a cloud focused ERP with flexibility for on premise and hybrid deployments. Cloud is a monthly subscription, while on premise is a perpetual license, which SoftwareConnect estimates at 150,000 to 1,000,000 USD, plus about 20 percent a year in maintenance.

Price the schedule before you price the ERP

If late orders are the problem, fix them first for a flat price per plant with the whole floor included. Start on Line at 149 USD a month, or run the demo on a sample week of orders and see where your bottleneck really is. Our pricing page lists every plan, and job shop scheduling software shows how mixed routings are scheduled.
