What PlanetTogether publishes about its pricing

Bar chart of three year subscription cost for one plant. PlanetTogether 108,000 USD for three planner seats at the Capterra listed 1,000 USD per user a month, 54,000 USD at the SourceForge starting price of 1,500 USD a month, 36,000 USD for one seat at the Capterra figure, against ProductionPlanning.ai Plant 7,722 USD and Line 2,682 USD with unlimited users

No dollar figure. PlanetTogether, sold as CAI PlanetTogether since it joined CAI Software in 2026, describes how you buy it and how long integration takes, and leaves the price to the sales call.

  • The pricing page has no plan names and no rates. It ends in a Talk to Sales button
  • The buying process is three steps on its own site: a reply from a PlanetTogether expert, a discovery call about your planning problems and current systems, then a personalized demo if there is a fit
  • Integration has a published range. PlanetTogether says many APS integrations can be completed in about 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the systems involved, data quality, integration method, field mappings and project scope
  • G2's pricing page for PlanetTogether says the vendor has not provided pricing, and SoftwareConnect lists "pricing requires consultation" among its cons

That is the usual shape for enterprise advanced planning and scheduling software. It also means the number you get depends on how many planners, plants and ERP connections are in the room on the discovery call.

The PlanetTogether APS pricing figures you will find online

With nothing official, the numbers in circulation come from software directories and from one rival vendor. They do not measure the same thing, so read each as a clue, not a rate card.

Source What it says about PlanetTogether APS pricing What it measures
Capterra Basic plan from 1,000 USD per user per month A starting seat price
SourceForge Starting price 1,500 USD per month, free trial available A starting subscription, unit not stated
G2 Pricing not provided by the vendor Nothing, ask for a quote
SoftwareConnect Price range hidden behind a quote request Nothing, ask for a quote
User Solutions, a competing scheduling vendor License or subscription 50,000 to 200,000 USD or more, implementation 30,000 to 100,000 USD or more, maintenance 18 to 22 percent of license A whole mid size deployment in year one

User Solutions sells a rival scheduler, so its 80,000 to 300,000 USD first year total for a mid size deployment deserves caution. It is still the only source that prices the project and not just the seat, and it describes PlanetTogether's target customer as a company of 100 to 5,000 or more employees.

Search results also still show older PlanetTogether pages with a pricing calculator and paid onboarding plans, including a dedicated solution engineer billed by the month. Those addresses now lead to the demo request form, so we leave them out of the math.

What actually moves a PlanetTogether quote

  • Users. The Capterra figure is per user, and every planner who edits the schedule is a seat. A plant with a planner, a scheduler on second shift and a plant manager is three
  • Plants. Multi plant scheduling with transfers between sites is one of PlanetTogether's real strengths, and each site adds scope
  • Integration. PlanetTogether is built to run on ERP data and its site names connectors for SAP, NetSuite, Kinaxis Maestro, AVEVA and Aptean Ross. The 4 to 8 week range is its own, and User Solutions puts a typical full rollout at 3 to 6 months
  • Data quality. An optimizer is only as good as the routings, run rates and inventory it is fed. If the schedule reads from a nightly ERP extract or a warehouse, data observability that flags a stale or half loaded feed is worth having before you trust the first published plan
  • Services. Data mapping, configuration, testing and planner training are sold as services on top of the software
  • The new owner. CAI Software took over in 2026 and says the product stays standalone. New ownership tends to bring new contract paper, so ask what happens to the price at renewal

What PlanetTogether costs one plant over three years, worked through

Take a single plant where three people edit the schedule. The sketch uses the two directory figures as they are listed. It is arithmetic on listings, not a CAI PlanetTogether quote, and it leaves out integration and training.

Scenario Basis Per year Three year subscription
One planner seat, Capterra 1,000 USD per user a month 12,000 USD 36,000 USD
Starting price, SourceForge 1,500 USD a month 18,000 USD 54,000 USD
Three planner seats, Capterra 3,000 USD a month 36,000 USD 108,000 USD

Now add the project. At User Solutions' estimate of 30,000 to 100,000 USD for implementation, the three seat plant lands between 138,000 and 208,000 USD over three years. That is in line with what the same source calls a mid size deployment.

ProductionPlanning.ai over the same three years is 2,682 USD on Line or 7,722 USD on Plant, paid yearly, with every planner, shift lead and operator included and no implementation fee. It is not a like for like comparison, and the next section says why.

PlanetTogether pricing model next to a flat price per plant

What you pay for PlanetTogether APS ProductionPlanning.ai
Pricing model Quoted, per user by the Capterra listing Flat per plant, published
Entry price 1,000 USD per user a month on Capterra, 1,500 USD a month on SourceForge 149 USD per plant a month
Users Each planner is a seat Unlimited on every plan
Needs an ERP underneath Built around ERP data No, starts from a spreadsheet import
Time to first schedule Integration of about 4 to 8 weeks by its own estimate The same afternoon
Optimization depth and multi plant transfers Yes, a core strength Finite capacity per machine, setups per family on Plant, up to five plants on Group
Best for Mid size and large manufacturers with an ERP and a planning team 5 to 60 person plants that ship late and want the schedule fixed now

PlanetTogether's money buys optimization across plants, deep constraint modeling and ERP connectors that a food, chemical or consumer goods manufacturer with a planning department may truly need. If SAP or NetSuite already feeds your schedule and several planners run it, PlanetTogether is a fair candidate and the price reflects that. If you run a 30 person plant on QuickBooks and a spreadsheet, you are pricing an enterprise optimizer to answer one question: which orders will be late. Our PlanetTogether alternative page sets the two products side by side, feature by feature.

What to ask on the PlanetTogether pricing call

  • Is the price per named user, per concurrent user or per plant, and is there a minimum?
  • Which edition is quoted, and what does the next one up add?
  • What does integration with our ERP cost, and is the 4 to 8 week estimate for our system or the general case?
  • How many days of configuration and planner training are in the quote, and what is the day rate if it runs over?
  • Is support in the subscription or a percentage of the license each year?
  • What is the annual increase, is it capped, and did the CAI acquisition change the contract terms?
  • How long until planners publish a schedule the floor actually follows, not just a go live date?

Put the answers in one sheet next to the same questions asked of every other vendor. Our best production scheduling software roundup, the Preactor pricing article on Siemens Opcenter APS and the advanced planning and scheduling software page give you the same facts for the other APS tools on a typical shortlist.

PlanetTogether pricing questions buyers ask

How much does PlanetTogether cost?

PlanetTogether does not publish a price. Capterra lists its Basic plan from 1,000 USD per user per month and SourceForge shows a starting price of 1,500 USD per month. For one plant with three planner seats that is 54,000 to 108,000 USD in subscription over three years, before integration, configuration and training.

Does PlanetTogether have a pricing page?

Yes, but it lists no prices. The PlanetTogether pricing page has no plan names or rates and ends in a Talk to Sales button. The process it describes is a reply from an expert, a discovery call and a personalized demo. G2 states that the vendor has not provided pricing.

How much does PlanetTogether APS implementation cost?

PlanetTogether publishes no implementation price. It says many integrations finish in about 4 to 8 weeks depending on systems and data quality. User Solutions, a competing vendor, estimates 30,000 to 100,000 USD or more in implementation services and 3 to 6 months for a mid size rollout.

Is there a free trial of PlanetTogether?

SourceForge lists a free trial as available, but PlanetTogether's own site offers a personalized demo after a discovery call, not a self serve trial. Ask on the first call whether you can load your own orders and routings before signing. ProductionPlanning.ai has an open demo you can run on a sample week of orders.

Who owns PlanetTogether now?

CAI Software. PlanetTogether joined CAI's manufacturing software portfolio in 2026 and the product is now sold as CAI PlanetTogether. CAI says it continues as a standalone advanced planning and scheduling product. Quotes, reviews and older listings still use the plain PlanetTogether name.

What is a cheaper alternative to PlanetTogether?

For enterprise APS, buyers compare PlanetTogether with Siemens Opcenter APS, DELMIA Ortems and Asprova. For a small plant that needs finite capacity and a late order list without an ERP integration project, ProductionPlanning.ai costs 149 USD per plant a month on Line or 429 USD on Plant, with unlimited users.

Price the schedule before you price the APS project

Run the demo on a sample week of orders and see the late list and the bottleneck in a few minutes. If it answers the question you were about to spend a discovery call on, the Line plan is 149 USD a month for the whole plant.
